Profile Bio Text
Discovered by director Al Herman, tall, dark-haired Leone Lane had dabbled in dress designing and been a dancer prior to earning the feminine lead in a series of FBO two-reelers. The exposure landed her a contract with Paramount and she was cast as Esther Ralston`s friend Pepi in the romantic comedy The Case of Lena Smith (1929), a late silent directed by Josef Von Sternberg. She played a similar role in Clara Bow`s The Saturday Night Kid (1929), a talkie, but her roles thereafter were miniscule and mostly unbilled. Lane`s death was attributed to a cardiovascular disease.
