Terius Youngdell Nash (born September 20, 1977), better known by his stage name The-Dream, is an American R&B and pop record producer, singer, and songwriter. He has also co-written songs, including songs with Dear Jayne, "Me Against the Music" (2003) for Britney Spears, "Umbrella" (2007) for Rihanna, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" (2008) for Beyoncé and "Baby" (2010) for Justin Bieber. He released five studio albums in 2007 to 2013, Love Hate (2007), Love vs. Money (2009), Love King (2010), Terius Nash: 1977 (2012) and IV Play (2013).

Born in North Carolina and raised in Bankhead, Atlanta by his grandfather. In 2004 he dated singer Nivea. He married her in 2004 and their daughter Navy Talia Nash was born in 2005. They divorced in 2007.
As for his stage name, Nash picked up "The-Dream" from his uncle as early as the age of 10, when he told Nash that he needed for him to be "the dream now" and "to have goals for higher things".
