Kasia Sowisnka is a Polish actress and television presenter. Born in a small city called Walbrzych. A daughter of Bozena i Leslaw Sowincy. Kasia has a twin brother Tomek who lives in Italy and a younger sister Marysia.
As a child, Kasia studied in a primary school of music in her home town Walbrzych. She is proficient in playing piano and enjoys the instrument until nowadays. From any early ages she has been very fond of sports and led an active life style. Ten years of horse riding led Kasia to a professional level in that field and brought her with many prestigious trophies. In 1998, she won the award of "The Best Contestant of the Year", despite her young age. In 1999, following her sport career, Kasia got discovered by the world of fashion. She was signed by one of the most successful and respected modeling agencies in the world - The Metropolitan. She was then traveling and working for world's best known fashion labels in places such as NYC, Paris, Miami, Korea, Barcelona, Mexico City or Los Angeles..
In 2005, she returned to Poland. She studied Politics and Journalism at the University of Warsaw, while working for MTV Poland at the same time. During that work placement, she was nation's favorite host, presenting a number most significant TV music galas, festivals and award ceremonies. She had the pleasure to work with artists such as Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, J-Z, The Pussy Cat Dolls, Joss Stone, James Blunt etc.
In 2007, Kasia was one of the celebrity contestants in a TV show called "Jak Oni Spiewaja" , where she was showcasing her vocal skills. The collaboration between the Polsat station and Kasia grew for another two years.
In 2008, Kasia made her guest appearance within the National Television Station hosting The Qualifications Gala of The Eurovision Song Contest. A few months later, she was offered to host a well known and one of the biggest music festivals in Poland - "Top Trendy Festival" in Sopot.
Kasia's biggest passion, acting, began to flourish in 2005, while working on soap series called "Kryminalni". She then went on to play one of the main part of Mirabell in highly acclaimed series "Ugly Betty" directed by Wojciech Smazowski and Robert Wichrowski. Later on, during the 2009-2010 period, Kasia played in another soap production "Samo Zycie" directed by Teresa Kotlarczyk and "Krolowie Srodmiescia". Her film credits include "Rys" and a short production "Street Feeling" by Christopher Russ Carlson.
Kasia Sowinska lives in Los Angeles, where she enjoys taking classes at the acting academy of Howard Fine. She recently appeared in an American series "Ricky and Ravy are Between Jobs" and is excited about future acting projects to come.
Kasia is also an active supporter and ambassador of "Fight Against Breast Cancer" campaign for Avon Poland, which she was honored to produce. In the future, she is actually planning to create her own charitable trust, which would support those fighting with cancer.
