Janine Duvitski (born Christine Janine Drzewicki; 1952) is an English actress, known for her roles as Jane Edwards in Waiting For God and Pippa Trench in One Foot In The Grave. She also created and played the role of Angela in Mike Leigh`s play Abigail`s Party. Duvitski, whose real surname `Drzewicki` she used to use when acting, was born in Lancaster, Lancashire. Her father was Polish. She trained at the East 15 Acting School in London. She has four children with her actor husband Paul Bentall. The actress Ruby Bentall is her daughter.
Duvitski`s many television credits include playing Jacqueline Stewart in Benidorm, One Foot in the Grave, Dennis Potter`s Blue Remembered Hills, Brush Strokes, Minder, Midsomer Murders, My Family, Man About the House, The Georgian House, Boys from the Blackstuff by Alan Bleasdale , The Knowledge and Z-Cars. She was also in the 1994 film The Madness of King George. Her most recent prominent role is as Eve in another BBC sitcom, The Worst Week of My Life. She also had a small role opposite Laurence Olivier and Donald Pleasence in Dracula (1979). Duvitski also appeared in the 1980 film Breaking Glass. Most recently in film, she was seen in The New World, and on stage in the 2007 revival of English National Opera`s On the Town. Most recently Duvitski has appeared as the character Jacqueline Stewart in the ITV comedy series Benidorm and as Mrs Meagles in the BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens` Little Dorrit.
