Holly Marie Willoughby (born 10 February 1981) is an English television presenter and model, best known for her current television work with ITV and formerly BBC One.
Willoughby rose to fame at the age of fourteen, as a model, but later began hosting various children's shows on CITV, most notably with Stephen Mulhern. In 2006, Willoughby won a BAFTA Award and was chosen to present the celebrity skating show Dancing on Ice which began the same year on ITV, she co-presented the show with Phillip Schofield for six series until her final series 2011. After stepping down from Dancing on Ice, Willoughby began presenting the BBC One talent show The Voice UK, which she hosted for two series with Reggie Yates. She was replaced by Emma Willis for the third series in 2014.
In 2008, Willoughby became a team captain on the ITV2 comedy panel show Celebrity Juice where she is known as Holly Willoughbooby, she currently appears alongside main host Leigh Francis and fellow team captain Fearne Cotton. Willoughby has starred in all eleven series to date.
In July 2009, Willoughby was selected as a replacement for Fern Britton on ITV's daytime programme This Morning. Her first show aired live on 14 September 2009, and currently hosts the programme from Monday - Thursday mornings alongside Phillip Schofield, with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes co-hosting on Fridays.
Since 2011, Willoughby has co-presented live charity telethon Text Santa, alongside Ant & Dec in 2011 and Phillip Schofield in 2012. She also returned to present the telethon in December 2013.
In 2012, she began hosting a revived version of the ITV entertainment show Surprise Surprise. The show returned for a second series on 15 September 2013.
The younger of two daughters of a sales manager of a double-glazing company and an air stewardess, Willoughby was educated at the independent Burgess Hill School for Girls in the town of Burgess Hill in West Sussex. She went on to attend the College of Richard Collyer in Horsham.
In 1995, at the age of 14, Willoughby was spotted by talent scouts at The Clothes Show Live exhibition. Storm Model Management signed her up. She appeared in teen magazines for girls such as Mizz, Just Seventeen and More!. From 1998, at the age of 17, she started modelling underwear for clients including Pretty Polly. She appeared in adverts and posters.
