Chris Kratt graduated from Carleton College, Minnesota in 1992 with a B.A. in Biology. In 1990 Chris was the recipient of a prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowship for study abroad. Chris is a founder of Kratt Brothers` Creature Heroes, a nonprofit society dedicated to enabling children to help the wild animals of the world. Chris is also the founder of the Carleton Organization for Biodiversity; a group working to increase public awareness about conservation and wildlife. In 1999, Chris was given the Award of Appreciation for his on-going commitment and public service on behalf of conservation and environmental education by US Secretary of the Interior, Bruce Babbitt.

Christopher F. "Chris" Kratt (born July 19, 1969) is an American educational nature show host. A grandson of musical-instrument manufacturer William Kratt, he and his older brother Martin grew up in Warren Township, New Jersey, and together created children's television series Kratts' Creatures, Zoboomafoo, and Be the Creature (which aired on the National Geographic Channel and Knowledge Network), as well as Wild Kratts (which airs on PBS Kids and TVOKids). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Carleton College. Chris co-hosts all of his educational childhood programs with his older brother Martin Kratt.
