Brian Douglas Williams (born May 5, 1959) is the American anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News, the evening news program of the NBC television network, a position he assumed in 2004. Williams was listed among Time Magazine`s 100 Most Influential People in The World in 2007, and in 2010, a prominent media observer dubbed him "the Walter Cronkite of the 21st century." He lives in New Canaan, Connecticut, with his wife, Jane Stoddard Williams, one of their two children (Doug Williams), and two dogs.

Brian Douglas Williams (born May 5, 1959) is an American journalist best known for his ten years as anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News, the evening news program of the NBC television network. Nine months after taking the position in December 2004, Williams anchored NBC coverage from New Orleans of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, and NBC News won a Peabody Award for Williams' and his colleagues' coverage of the story. In February 2015, Williams was suspended for six months without pay from the Nightly News for "misrepresent[ing] events which occurred while he was covering the Iraq War in 2003."
